Cold Turkey

Cold Turkey: "Were spreading democracy, are we? Same way European explorers brought Christianity to the Indians, what we now call Native Americans. How ungrateful they were! How ungrateful are the people of Baghdad today."

here here. good article.

HOWEVER, it ends on a pretty depressing note. Even this guy is on the "Peak Oil" trip. I am scared, I should start learning how to hunt and live off the land, since the days of this modern fossil-fuel life are numbered.

jordan, what are yours thoughts on "Peak Oil"?

you mean that oil production is declining? experts seem pretty sure. they have charts and things. The money these companies have at stake, it's enough to make people claim wars are being fought over it, certainly they would be doing there best to get at it all over the world. I think they pretty much looked everywhere.

what i dont think is that this means doom and gloom. we can work it out, gas engines are the only game in town? hardly... (europe is used to expensive oil... they're more prepared).

peace and love and rainbows.

welp, gas engines aren't the only way to go, but some say that our infrastructure is hopelessly dependent on petroleum. and that there isn't sufficient time to restructure everything to use alt. energy - by that time, all the oil will be gone.

i don't know what to think, this issue has shades of "Y2K" or polar ice caps disaster, but i suppose you can't argue that earth's oil supply is limited.
